Taconic Valley 4-H Explorers

We are a 4-H technology club made up of sixth grade students. We have been meeting all school year two times each month after school. Our project was to learn about our school property and more about the community where we live. We have had a great year and have had lots of fun exploring our own backyard and learning about GPS and GIS technology. Our club has had a lot of support from the community. We teamed up with the Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H, the Berlin Junior Senior High School, the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center, Rensselaer County Bureau of Research Information Services and the United States Forest Service to learn more about the natural resources outside our school building.
