SDE Tech Note 101: Improved SDE 3.0.1 performance through your GIOMGR.DEFS file

Make the following alterations to your GIOMGR.DEFS file and restart your server. We have found significant performance (data retrieval, i.e.. draw time) improvements with these settings. We will document tuning of the GIOMGR.DEFS file at SDE 4.0.


MINBUFSIZE   409600   # minimum buffer size > 4096



MAXBUFSIZE   819200   # maximum buffer size > MINBUFSIZE



MINBUFOBJECTS   512   # minimum number of buffer objects
