DEEP LEARNING IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT
The 2018 Woolsey Fire burned in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, California. Responders used deep learning with GIS to quickly perform feature extraction from imagery to identify damaged and undamaged buildings. This analysis enabled first responders to find damaged and destroyed structures and deploy the appropriate help and resources.
